"Connected" Evening of Poetry - Twelve Days of Action against Sexual AssaultPublished on December 6, 2021
The "Connected" evening of poetry was a beautiful moment of gathering and tribute to all women victims of gender-based violence, on this day of December 6. Marie Nicolas, from La Débrouille, spoke for the December 6 vigil and paid a deeply moving tribute. Marie-Claude Saindon emphatically reminded us of the work done by CALACS to become ever more intersectional and to strive for action for, with and by women victims of sexual assault.
So it is through poetry that we concluded the twelve days of action against sexual assault, which, this year, focused on the theme of “deconfining the conversation on gender-based violence”. Many thanks to poets Laurence Veilleux, Maya Cousineau Mollen, Sabina Rony, Ines Kiawane, Beck Laflamme, Jenni Saraf, Sandrine Vachon and Alice Boutten, Jean Kabuta and his allies, Élise Argouarc’h and Jeanne-Marie Rugira for their emancipatory poetry.
During this evening we had the great pleasure of launching our video clips for the awareness campaign “Breaking the silence on sexual assault”. Special thanks to Bénigne, Marie-Anne, Adée-Anne, Ruly, Joane, Laurie, Émilie and Anne for their contributions to the videos created by Antoine Proulx and Élise Argouarc’h.
A moment of beauty, silence and emotion, which is being retransmitted on the page of Résonance - Labo d’innovation sociale, whose president, Vincent Cousin, we thank for his feminist, technical and poetic support.
